Even before the non-profit DeciBel Dream Big Foundation was launched last week, it has already disbursed $100,000 to assist young members of the local artistic community in their pursuits.

Speaking at the launch of the DeciBel/ Dream Big Foundation (DDBF) last Wednesday at Movietowne, Port-of-Spain, DDBF director Simon Baptiste said, “Over $100,000 has been disbursed in the form of grants to filmmakers and music practitioners.” Among them were Christopher Guinness, Oliver Milne, and Kasey Phillips who produced “award winning” films, on “incredibly small budgets.” The DDBF’s major sponsor from its inception a couple of years ago, has been Republic Bank.
